I need to make calculations, simple and semi-complex, several times each day. The calculator Apple provides wasnt stout enough, didnt offer paper tape type print outs, doesnt have anything like the functions I need. But opening Excel everytime I wanted to convert acres to sq. feet, or Euros to $$ wasnt convenient. CalcMadeEasy does all that, and much more, right on the desk top. And then shuffles off to the background. This should be a very common solution, but in my experience, its not -looked at lots of over desktop apps before installing CME, and now have it on all our machines (!!)

Like the history of calculations into the notepad. Makes it easy to verify that the right figures went into the calculation. Also good balance with the number of buttons vs. the functions provided.

not bad. has all the basic functions. Really great it would have multi-line read-out so you could see past calculations, and the fade-out capability that I have seen on other apps. But all-in-all OK.

I find myself using the various functions of this app again and again. It would be hard for me to choose which is the most useful. I would have given it five stars — and replaced another calculator app on my system — if it only had a "tape" function and a dedicated financial calculator mode.

It does much of what I want a calculator on the desk top to do. If I was going to improve it, I would build in a feature that would allow a adding tape that could be saved as a separate file, maybe one that could be opened by a simple text editor. I would also build a better reference to mathematics, and special features for those who are learning the higher maths and want an explanation of functions, or a how to in ten easy. In this vein of thought, It might be nice to team up with a web site to teach more mathematics, Just a few thoughts.

I love this app I use it daily for many different needs. I have to give it 5 stars. To One Thing Lacking, 3 star rater, you are right it would be nice to have history showing, perhaps some day it will come. But regardless this app deserves 5 stars for what it already does. We are living in a world that is not perfect, we need to appreciate what we have. I wish my grandma was still here, but will never happen either. :-)

When you are adding a column of figures, the window does not show a running total like most calculators do. You cant get a subtotal as you go along. Also, the memory record doesnt show the memory total if you wish to view what is on the memory record.

Always go back to this one.

I have been using this calculator / converter app for about a year and I have had no problems. It provides all of the conversions that I need and it is very intuitive to use. It is a great app overall.

It does everything I need it to and a little bit more. I love how functional it is and the built-in conversion and finance calculators. I can’t give it a 5 star because of two issues that are driving me crazy. The loud button-clicking sound from entering numbers or clicking numbers on the interface will not even shut off when I hit ‘mute’ on my mac mini speakers. No other sound will play, but those LOUD and unpleasant button clicks will. This may not seem like a big deal, but when it’s 3am and I am trying to do some accounting hw without waking the whole apartment up, it’s a big deal. I have never had a program completely ignore the ‘mute’ command. My second issue is just the size of the app’s interface. It’s HUGE. It takes up far too much space and can get in the way of the web pages and excel sheets that I am reading numbers off of. I have tried to see if there is a way to make it smaller, but there does not seem to be a way. Even the simple interface with only basic keys takes up nearly 1/4 of the screen, and with my 32” TV that I use as a monitor, that is no easy feat.

I have used this app for a couple of weeks and find it operates pretty well. I would give 5 stars but the mortgage calculator is not designed to fill in any missing variable. For example you can not calculate how many months are left to pay when all other variables are entered. I do love the “Notepad” feature that automatically fills when you run any calculation. It is plain text so you can edit, delete, add, etc. customize for your use. Overall these is a good app especially for the price.

I’ve only used this calculator for a couple of days now, but so far I’m impressed. It has great functionality as well as great features, including constants, conversion factors, and financial calculations, all built into a single app. The notepad feature is also nice to have and easy to use for sharing or saving information. A good buy!

this app simply does not work. enter a number hit multiple divide add etc and the calculator beeps then when you add the next number it continues to add those digits to the first number. just spent 10 minute differnt settings , turning it on and off reloading. Still the same. deleting it now. worthless waste of money. the free version worked fine!

I hate that I now have to go to the menu, scroll through it, and then click on notepad. Its ridiculous. What was wrong with the button at the bottom? It was so much easier. The whole reason I even got this app in the first place was becasue of the notepad feature. Now theyve made it more difficult for me to use. Is it just me or do most updates to most apps these days just make the app worse?

Calculator works flawlessly after update! Definitely worth the $3 imo.

The cal does everything a geek like me needs.

I have this App installed on my MacBook Pro and my iPad mini … works great. I like the button (on the Mac) that hides the button bar at the bottom. I wish that same functionality would be added to the iOS Apps (maybe a settings option). I would also like to see the working value update after every function key hit. Currently it only updates after hitting the enter key. This makes it difficult to watch your progress and tell if a typo has been made. Overall this App works very well. I would definitely recommend this App. *****Updating my review to reflect my current status. I now have an iPhone 6 Plus along with the iPad Air and MacBook Pro. The App was not fixed until this new version came out. The hide button was never implemented. No suprise there. I am not able to maintain consistent layouts between the iPhone version and the other two (iPad & Mac). I have sent a few emails to support and they did respond. However, all they did was make excuses why they weren’t going to do anything (Again, no surprise here). So, I looked for a better calculator and foud it. I consider less than tree stars but it is a pretty good calculator. For those of you with no Iphone it wili may be 4 or 5 star for you. My new calculator is configuable (This one is not) and has many more Themes than this one. It also has an “undo” button on the Mac or a “undo” swipe on my devices and this one does not. Shop around … you can do better.

This calculator does everything the average user wants plus so much more! I love this and use it at least once a day!

Well worth the $ 2.99 , This is a very useful tool and really makes calculating a joy . I also love the notepad and logging of your calculations .

I love the design and Simplicity If wanted of CalcMadeEasy. It’s customizations features are great and the app never crashes. All In all an excellent value. Thank You for the new update as well.
